virtual school
so, someone had asked me about virtual school and how it can be difficult for both teachers and students. So for teachers, they need to find ways to get education through to the student without actually being there to help them. Say a student needed assistance on a topic, the teacher would not know without looking at the grades which obviously they would do after class. Then the teacher has no extra time to pull them off to the side to help them, because virtual learning takes up that much time. Some schools, like mine, have extra periods during the day or once a week where a teacher can ask to pull a student in for extra help or for extra work to practice, and for me those are called "support sessions." I find them to be really helpful to both student and teacher, because student can learn what they needed privately, and teacher can have extra help from a student with her teachings. And likewise to the teacher, the student also feels lots of pressure and stress through virtual learning. This is of course an opinion and I am NOT saying everyone is the same, but I am giving my opinion and some examples. For me, virtual learning is challenging since you are not there to have your teacher to ask questions and/or give you extra help as I had said before, but also because staring at a screen is definitely not good for your eyesight. I wear glasses already, I am nearsighted, so this kind of worsens my vision. Plus, it gives me lots of headaches. And then there is the factor of my very small social life. I like to keep my friends close, and sometimes I am scared of losing them due to this pandemic. What if we grow apart? What if one of us gets the virus? Things like that. But what is important is to remember that no matter how near or far, your friends are always with you. Whether you've talked to them just a few minutes ago, or a few months or even more, your friend is still your friend, and no distance can change that. I know that some fights happen and people lose friends, make enemies, but that's a different discussion. Also, a disclaimer: I AM NOT A HEALTHCARE WORKER, THE FACTS ABOUT THE PANDEMIC ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT FROM MY END, AND I AM NOT A RESEARCH WEBSITE. Just wanted to make that clear so there is no confusion. Moving on, there are definitely people who'd prefer virtual learning over in-school education. Some people like waking up later, staying in pajamas, and snacking time to time in class, and not needing to face the "drama" some people may have in school, and I completely agree. For now it is best to listen to health workers who know what they are doing, don't take it from me I am just here for an opinion, though. Thanks for reading, and as always make sure you comment any suggestions about things you may want to read. And don't forget! stay good.
